Blueberry Park Primary School

Hello and welcome to Nursery! We have busy mornings and afternoons full of lots of lovely learning with Miss Higgins, Miss Ross, Mrs Rakem and Miss Harvey (a.m. session).

Our session times are as follows:

Morning Nursery:   08.30 (with a 15 minute flexible drop off) until 11.30

Afternoon Nursery:12.30 until 3.30 (with a flexible collection from 3.15)

Encourage your child to be as independent as possible at home, this will really help them with our daily routines.  All children need to be able to use the toilet independently and pull up their sleeves for handwashing. They also need to be able to take off and put on their coat, jumper, shoes and socks.  If your child finds this hard, practise at home as much as you can. Please make sure that your child wears shoes that they can put on and take off by themselves, Velcro fastenings are the easiest for little hands to manage.

We have messy play and water play available every day, so all children need to have a full change of clothes at Nursery (including underwear and socks). Please remember to label all clothing with your child’s name to avoid items being lost.

Working outdoors in our lovely Nursery garden is part of our daily routine, we go outside every day, so please make sure that your child has a hat and gloves for the winter and comes to Nursery with sun protection applied in the summer.

All children have a daily snack, and milk or water for which we charge £1 per child, per week. Please send snack money into Nursery on Monday, if possible.

PE is on a Monday for our morning children and on Thursday for our afternoon children. All children need to have black PE pumps clearly labelled with their name.

Madame Burkot comes to teach us French on Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon, we have great fun learning French through songs, actions and rhymes.

We want to encourage a love of books from an early age, so please stay for a few minutes at the start of Nursery on a Friday to choose a library book with your child.

We look forward to working together!
