We are 4SW! We had a great Autumn Term, with the highlight being learning about the sinking of the Titanic. Our trip to the Maritime Museum on the 13th December was fantastic and we want to go back!
We are continuing to learn the violin and will be performing for you very soon!
Here are the units we will be learning during the Spring Term:
- Science: Sound / The Digestive System
- Geography: How is Sheffield different to Liverpool? / Extreme Earth
- RE: How should you worship God / How can you speak to God?
- Computing: HTML and creating a web page/ Programming Turtle Robots
- DT/Art: Cookery
- PSHE/SEAL: Getting on and falling out / Going for Goals!
Swimming will continue this term!
PE kits may be required for after school clubs. Please NAME EVERY ITEM of kit, including pumps.
In English we will be finding out about Neil Armstrong and how to become an astronaut, followed by a unit where we will be writing about and advertising our school.
We will continue to practise column method addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division methods in Maths. We will also be looking in more detail at fractions and decimals.
Finally, it is also essential that we read for a few minutes EVERY night and memorise our times tables and weekly spellings. One of our Maths targets in Year 4 is to know every times table up to the 12 x table, and we are doing the Cracking Times Tables Challenge each week to improve our recall. It is a lot of work but we CAN do it!
