Our Year 6 Prefects were invited to represent our school by being one of our Reading and Writing (English) Ambassadors. This means acting as a role model and helping other children, setting the example and helping to raise reading and writing standards in school. To do this, they were asked to be part of a team who write the school blog, share picture books with some of our reluctant readers, check the school displays are neat and tidy, as well as interviewing other pupils for their point of view. In addition, we are planning out of school visits to places such as Dovecot Library and further developing our important Community Links.
Fourteen children replied in writing and received their English Ambassador badge. They are split into Phase Teams and have successfully introduced Outdoor Writing across the school as well as keeping our library areas sorted, neat and tidy. We even come to school early on Thursdays for our own Writing for Fun group, where we have copied Chinese Writing and invented a new ice cream!
