Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
A child or young person has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her. They should receive provision different from or additional to what is normally available to pupils of the same age. Children and young people who have SEN may also have a disability under the Equality Act 2010. Where a child or young person is covered by SEN and disability legislation, reasonable adjustments and access arrangements should be considered as part of SEN planning and review.
Our SEND Policy ensures that Blueberry Park meets the needs of learners as identified in the ‘0 to 25 SEND Code of Practice – September 2014.’ There are 4 primary areas of special educational needs:
- Communication and Interaction
- Cognition and Learning
- Social, Mental and Emotional Health
- Sensory and/or Physical development
