Welcome to Y4SW
Miss Williams, Miss O'Shaughnessy and Miss Scott
Welcome to Year 4 at Blueberry Park Primary School!

We have an exciting term ahead of us. I can't wait to hear about what you have been up to and share the things we have coming up. Let's keep up all the hard work, enthusiasm and positivity!
Year 4 are continuing to work hard as the Spring Term begins, with a focus on the presentation of our work.
Our Maths focus is multiplication, division and fractions. Our Daily Fluency practise is having a positive effect and our times tables knowledge is really improving in preparation for the Multiplication Check in June.
In English we have been reading 'Arthur and the Golden Rope' which is a myth narrative.
In P.E. we are doing gymnastics and yoga.
Our Science focus is states of matter and our Geography focus is rainforests in Ecuador.
Every minute out of school is lost learning time!
Thank you for your help!
School starts at 8:45 (calm start and SODA activities that recap over prior learning) with registration at 9:00am. We begin our day immediately with our Daily Fluency times tables practise, so being in class on time is essential.
The school day finishes at 3:15pm. In order to keep everyone safe, please stand back from the doors at drop off and pick up times.
Reading
We encourage children to read as much as they can independently both in class and at home. Children regularly have opportunities to read aloud during the day. All children should have a home/school reading book which should be brought to school every day. Please write a comment in the reading record praising how well your child has read and which pages they have read.
PE
PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays for this half term. Children should come to school in their PE kits on these days. If they are in an after-school sports club, they can wear their PE kits on those days.
Homework
Homework will be posted on Class Dojo on a Friday and the children will have a homework book to record it in, to be returned by the following Thursday morning. Homework will be spelling and times tables. This term, children will be given a user name and password so they can access the Century online learning platform. This is a great resource which adapts tasks to each child based on their answers.
Multiplication Check (June)
Children are expected to know times tables facts up to 12 x 12. Please use the following websites to practise:
