Welcome to our class!
We are full of fun and positive energy. We encourage each other to do our best in everything we do and celebrate each other's achievements and successes with pride. This year, we have planned many more opportunities for practical, engaging and fun learning, with memorable experiences being created all the time. These include our weekly guitar lessons and exciting topics such as: being Hunter Gatherers in The Stone Age, Fossil Hunters in Science and Keeping Safe on the Internet. Other interesting lessons we are looking forward to include: Forces and Magnets, Light and Shadows, Animals and Plants. We know this year will be brilliant with your children working extremely hard to reach their full potential. Working as a team will ensure that we all reach our final goals and have an enjoyable time whilst making memories to cherish.
Reading is extremely important to us. Thank you for listening to your child reading at home every day: the more they practise, the better readers they will be. Books are to be brought into school on Friday and will return home on Monday. During the Spring Term, we hope to visit the local library with the children to further develop their love of reading for pleasure and enjoyment.
Music: Our Guitar lesson is taught every Wednesday morning, with the children quickly becoming quite adept at their riffs, strumming and note recognition.
PE is on Wednesday and Friday so the children need to wear their white T-shirt and navy shorts under their navy tracksuit.
Homework is given on Monday and is not expected to be returned to school. It is also on Seesaw.
This includes a piece of Maths, Spellings and Times tables practice. Year 4 children need to learn all of the times tables by the end of the year.
All of our children have a username and password for: Seesaw, Purple Mash, TT Rockstars, Spelling Shed and ReadTheory so are also able to access these at home.
