Welcome back after half term! 

We have an exciting term ahead of us and I can't wait to show you everything we have planned for Summer 1! 

In Art we will be learning about the artist Antony Gormley who is famous for his sculpture art work. We would love it if you could spend a day visiting all the different sculptures in Liverpool. See the map below to help guide you to all the different sculptures. See how many you can find take photos to send to class Dojo.

In Maths we will be learning about ...

In Literacy we will be reading the story 'The secret of Black Rock' by Joe Todd-Stanton. This term we will be visiting Delamere forest to recap and revisit our story of 'Where the wild things live'.

As phonics screening will tak place week beginning 9th June we will be practising our SET 2 and SET 3 sounds daily.

To avoid any lost learning it is important to ensure we have good attendance. Each day new learning takes place which means everyday is vital in ensuring children are ready for Year 2. If you need any adivce or support with this please contact school.

Reading

Please listen to your child read every day, we request that you sign and date the red reading record every time you read at home with your child. You can also let us know if they found anything particularly difficult. Books and folders need to be returned to school every Friday. You need to record your child's reading in the yellow books and then the reading book can be changed. Your child will receive additional books or ditty sheets linked to their Read Write Inc phonics group.

PE

We have our PE lessons every Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure children come to school wearing their PE tops and shorts under tracksuit bottoms, PE hoodie or their school jumper, and trainers. Please make sure that these are all labelled.

Homework
Your child’s homework tasks will be given out every Friday via class Dojo. These homework tasks include, Maths,  and Literacy. Homework can be given in paper form if requested.
