Welcome to Our Summer Term!

We’ve got a fantastic term ahead, packed with exciting learning and fun activities!

In Geography, we’ll be exploring the European region—finding out about different countries, their landscapes, and what makes them special.

In Science, our focus is on forces. We’ll be asking questions like: What makes things move? How do pushes and pulls work? Get ready for some great experiments!

In Maths, we’re working on measurement—learning how to measure length, weight, capacity, and time, as well as how to convert between different units. We’ll be using these skills in lots of practical ways.

In English, we’ll be diving into The Lost Book of Adventure. This amazing book is full of survival tips and wild adventures—perfect for sparking our imaginations and inspiring our own writing.

In PE, we’ll be continuing with swimming and cricket, building our confidence in the water and practising our cricket skills out in the sunshine.

It’s going to be a brilliant Summer term—we can’t wait to get started!

School starts at 8:45 (SODA), registration 9:00 am, school finishes at 3:15pm. In order to keep everyone safe, please stand back from the doors at drop off and pick up times.

Reading

We encourage children to read as much as they can independently, with an adult and as a class. All children have a home/school reading book and a reading for pleasure book. Reading books go home every night and are to be returned every morning to school. Please write a comment in the reading record praising how well your child has read.

PE

PE is on a Tuesday and Friday. Children should come to school wearing their PE kits (Blue shorts, white tshirts, navy school jogging bottoms and hoodie). If incorrect kits is worn, children will be used PE kit from lost property and a note will be sent home regarding this. Swimming kit is needed for a tuesday session (swimming costume/shorts, a swimming hat and a towl).

Homework

Homework is posted on Class Dojo on a Friday and is to be returned/uploaded to Class Dojo by the following Friday. Children are tested on the times tables and spellings sent out, so please make sure they are being practised daily.
