Welcome to 6DH
Mr Higginson
Mrs Foy
Welcome to 6DH and our final year at Blueberry Park!
We are a friendly bunch who are empathetic, kind and helpful. We are looking forward to sharing all of the exciting things that we get up to this year!
Summer 1
By the end of this half term, we will have completed all of our KS2 SATs and will be preparing to transition to secondary school in September. We will be working hard, having fun and we'll keep you updated on Class Dojo!
Attendance and Punctuality
Good school attendance and punctuality are crucial for a child to succeed. Missing school days can have an impact on learning; for example- one day off school is five missed lessons or three days is fifteen lessons.
School Timings
School starts at 8.45am (Calm Start). Registration is at 9.00am. School finishes at 3.15pm. In order to keep everyone safe, please stand back from the doors at drop off and pick up times.
Reading
We encourage children to read as much as they can independently, with an adult and as a class. All children should have a home/school reading book and a reading for pleasure book. Reading books will go home every night and are to be returned every morning to school, where the children can change them as required.
PE
Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA) is on a Tuesday and Cricket is on a Thursday. Children should come to school in their PE kits on these days. If incorrrect kit is worn, children will be issued PE kit from lost property and a note will be sent home regarding this.
Homework
Homework will be posted on Class Dojo on a Friday and is to be returned by the following Friday. Children will be tested on the times tables and spellings sent out, so please make sure they are being practised daily.
