Welcome to Year 2AD class page!

Our class have been working tirelessly throughout the year on a range of topics and subjects. We have  been challenging ourselves with all of our lessons and the children have given 100% to succeed in their learning.

This half term we are learning about:

English: Journey

Maths: Statistics and measuring

Science: Plants

PE: Athletics

Geography: Mugumareno Village

Computing: Creating Pictures

RE: Does going to a mosque give Muslims a sense of belonging

Design and Technology: Making a moving monster

Music: Friendship Song

PSHE: Relationships

Spanish: Weather

Reading

We encourage children to read as much as they can independently, with an adult and as a class. All children should have a home/school reading book and a reading for pleasure book. Reading books will go home every night and are to be returned every morning to school. Please write a comment in the reading record praising how well your child has read.

PE

PE is on a Thursday and a Friday. Children should come to school in their PE kits on these days.

Homework

Homework will be given out on a Friday and to be brought back in on the following Friday. Children will receive maths, spelling and handwriting homework. Children also have access to NumBots. Here they can increase their knowledge and speed of their place value knowledge as well as challenging their friends and teachers! TTRockstars is also available to children, so they can practise their times tables.
