SUNSHINE ROOM
Welcome to the Sunshine Room!
In our Sunshine room, we offer an alternative provision for children who require additional support and adapted learning techniques, our main focus is developing and extending on the children's emotional well-being and independence through a range of play based activities which centre around the children's individual interests and targets.
We are currently focusing on;
- Building on our self-care skills to increase independence.
- Activities to increase our social interactions and participation in small group work.
- Weekly cooking activities to encourage, patience, turn taking, working together and following simple instructions. This also provides the children with a sense of achievement.
- Continuous (Indoor/outdoor) provision to provide children with opportunities to further extend their learning through a range of resources and activities linked to their targets.
We understand that every child develops at their own pace so targets will only increase as children become more secure in these areas, enabling children to confidently engage in learning experiences and achieve.
Weekly newsletters will be sent home to keep parents/careers updated and informed about their child's learning.
